The Early Professional Hackathon Badge is issued to participants of a Hackathon or innovation event who have during the event demonstrated collaboration, presentation, innovation and client problem-solving skills. Please read carefully the earning process below before contacting the badge issuer.

Earning Criteria

The applicant must be an employee of IBM and also part of the Graduate or Foundation programmes.

The badge earner needs to be present at all days of the hackathon.

The applicant must have participated in a Hackathon or innovation event in full.

During the event, the applicant actively contributed to teamwork and team performance.

During the event, the applicant shared his/her ideas with the team and clearly delivered the team’s solution to the judging panel in the final presentation.

During the event, the applicant demonstrated creative thinking skills and was confident to develop innovative ideas into an actional solution.

During the event, the applicant stayed focused on the client/end user’s key concerns (“the challenge”) and showed commitment to designing a solution that benefited the client/end user.

If you are an event organiser interested in leveraging this badge - PRIOR TO the event, the event organiser must contact the badge issuer (click on the link to additional details), providing the event agenda and judging criteria. Upon reviewing the above materials, the badge issuer will confirm with the event organiser if the participants will qualify for this badge.

Following successful completion of the event, the event organiser should provide the list of participants who qualify for the badge. The badge issuer will issue the badge to the event participants who have met the badge earning criteria during the event.
