The GTO Sponsor Program aims to improve and standardize the onboarding experience by pairing qualified, tenured technicians acting as Sponsors with new hires and providing them with 1:1 job shadowing and instruction. The desired outcome of the Sponsor Program is to set the new hire up for success by providing practical instruction for the skills required in their new role.

Earning Criteria

The Sponsor will have successfully completed the Mentoring at Microsoft: Partner Enablement Training module.
The sponsor will have worked on a diverse range of tasks, based on the disciplines they are a sponsor for
The Sponsor will have reviewed the Sponsor Program document and understand the responsibilities of the Sponsor role
The Sponsor will have completed the Sponsor Virtual Badge Knowledge Assessment (copy of KA attached) with a passing score of no less than 80%.
The Sponsor will have onboarded and instructed at least four new technicians spending no less than an accumulated 40 hours in 1-on-1 shadowing. This will be documented by the completed Observation Checklists and L&D Trainer check ins.
