DEIS in Corporate Governance & Board You will learn how to identify and recruit beyond your traditional talent pool, and how to make use of their skillset to support your organization’s growth. We will also discuss the importance of starting a diversity committee as part of your corporate governance and board, so that employees from all backgrounds can feel included in the growth of the company.

DEIS in Human Resources You will discuss why it’s important to have an equitable team and the role of DEIS in HR. As part of that discussion, you will explore supporting research from McKinsey & Company. You will also learn more about where and how to recruit more diverse hires including Black, Latinx, and Indigenous talent. You will also explore how employee engagement should look once you have a more diverse and equitable team.

DEIS in Procurement In this session, you will gain an understanding of how procurement can be leveraged to increase racial equity and explore the long-range impact of corporations hiring socially disadvantaged businesses.

DEIS in Product Development In this course, you will study the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, quantum computing and augmented reality on racial equity. You will learn how the lack of diversity on engineering teams can lead to issues including racial bias, profiling, and discrimination. Case studies featuring Uber, Airbnb, and State Farm will be used to demonstrate these problems and solutions.

DEIS in Go To Market In this class, you will learn how to effectively and ethically market to specific target audiences through the appropriate use of creativity that represents those audiences as well as how to plan your marketing and ad spend with those target markets in mind.

DEIS in Venture Capital & Investment In this session, we will discuss the importance of investing in Black and brown fund managers, Black-owned banks, and Black and brown entrepreneurs. You will learn how to properly structure DEIS investments on your books, how to limit your liabilities, and how to invest with ROI in mind.

DEIS in Impact You will leave this class understanding what it means to have DEIS as part of your community impact, CSR, volunteerism, and other philanthropic efforts.

DEIS Canvas and DEIS P&L Presentations Class participants will present their individual actionable DEIS Canvas and DEIS P+L projects they have been working on throughout the course, with the intention of implementing those within their organization. Each presentation will be followed by open discussion and feedback from faculty and peers.
