New Product Development Professional (NPDP) certification supports and formally recognizes mastery of product development principles, skills and best practices. Earners have demonstrated product development knowledge in the following seven key areas: NPD Strategy, Portfolio Management, New Products Process, Culture, Organization and Teams, Tools and Metrics, Market Research, and Life Cycle Management.

Earning Criteria

Hold a bachelor’s or higher university degree from an accredited institution
Accrued at least two years of professional-level experience working in new product development
Achieve a passing score on the NPDP Certification Exam
Obtain 60 professional development hours (PDHs) every three years to maintain NPDP Certification.
If an applicant holds a high school diploma or equivalent, the individual must accrue at least five years of professional-level experience working in new product development.
