Earning Criteria

Distinguished Data Scientists achieve Certification by successfully completing three interviews by other Level 3 Certified Data Scientists, based upon a comprehensive package of information describing project and other experiences. The criteria used to decide on certification include all of the Skills mentioned above at a "deep" level, having mastered the state of the art, as well as repeated experience successfully directing significantly complex Data Science initiatives.

Prior Certification at Level 2 - Master Certified Data Scientist is mandatory.

Distinguished Data Scientists have repeated experience successfully directing projects that significantly, positively, and measurably affect the business, as well as repeated experience in setting and driving Data Science goals and objectives for significant strategic initiatives.

Distinguished Data Scientists have experience in establishing the Data Science vision for significantly complex projects, and are able to lead with impact, successfully introducing innovations by re- imagining existing problems through the application of new Data Science capabilities.

Distinguished Data Scientists have demonstrated measurable, positive, significant impact on the business outcome through significantly complex projects or initiatives. This must have been demonstrated through financial or other KPIs.

Distinguished Data Scientists encourage the implementation and reuse of assets across project domains and can demonstrate their contribution to establishing the environment which supports the creation of reusable assets.

Distinguished Data Scientists continually develop and maintain their knowledge of the technology trends that are relevant to developing solutions for solving business problems, so that they are able to leverage that body of knowledge into feasible solutions.

Distinguished Data Scientists continually develop and maintain an understanding of their clients' businesses as it pertains to their clients' vertical industries (e.g., telecoms, financial, etc.).
