NAEC Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI™)
Holders of this (QEI™) certification are inspectors that have the skills, knowledge, and education to safeguard the public by confirming elevators, escalators, and other conveyances are code compliant and operating safely. This Certification is issued by the National Association of Elevator Contractors and endorsed by the NAEC Certification Board overseen by Chair, Frank Giampa.

QEI-1 is intended for the purpose of establishing uniform criteria, which will aid in: (a) qualifying and training of inspection personnel for government agencies, insurance companies, elevator companies, building owners, and managers (b) providing guidance for accredited certifying organizations.
The ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) accreditation since its launch in 2003 is a personnel certification accreditation program based on the international standard ISO/IEC 17024:2012. More than 5.2 million people worldwide and counting hold a certification from an ANAB-accredited organization.
