Lifetime Emeritus status signifies that a member maintains an active status as a CCIE or as a CCIE Emeritus for 20 consecutive years in at least one CCIE track. Lifetime Emeritus members no longer participate in a "day to day" technical work but would like to be involved in the program serving as ambassadors to current and future CCIE's.

Earners of the CCIE Lifetime Emeritus - Service Provider have earned a CCIE certification through exam requirements and have maintained it for a period of at least 20 years. They have demonstrated knowledge of implementing core service provider network technologies, including core architecture, services, networking, automation, quality of services, security, network assurance.
