This course is offered by the Center for Impact Finance at the University of New Hampshire’s Carsey School of Public Policy. This training is for non-profit organizations, cooperatives, and mission-driven organizations interested in building out a business line to develop community solar projects. The earner of this badge has successfully completed the Community Power Accelerator Learning Lab course studying practical information of how to develop community solar projects.

Earning Criteria

This intensive 7-module program required 8-10 hours of self-study every week and a 90-minute live virtual class each week for 8 weeks. Live virtual classes consisted of teacher lecture, guest speakers, small discussion groups, and full class discussion. Weekly self-study included viewing video lessons, completing readings, taking online quizzes, completing written discussion forums and class assignments, and developing a final project and presentation. Group work was expected outside of class.
A students’ grade is Pass/Fail. Course completion was dependent on successful class attendance, completion of weekly coursework, and completion of the final project and presentation.
Students will be issued a Certificate in Community Solar Development through UNH. This course was developed in partnership with Housing Sustainability Advisors and with significant expertise and materials contributed by: Cooperative Energy Futures, Enerwealth Solutions, GRID Alternatives, Groundswell, People’s Solar Energy Fund, Solar One, Solar United Neighbors, Sunwealth. The Learning Lab is part of the National Community Solar Partnership, a national effort of the U.S. Department of Energy
