Current PACFA registrants must meet the relevant registration standard, and their associated registration standards.
The scope of practice for PACFA-registered counsellors takes into consideration three elements: competent practice, safe practice, and regulated practice.
The PACFA Training Standards provide guidance to training providers and students on the standards of counselling and psychotherapy education that are recommended by PACFA for safe, competent and ethical practice in counselling and psychotherapy.
PACFA members, including practitioners, affiliates, students, educators, trainers and researchers, are required to work to the PACFA Code of Ethics. Practitioners are held accountable for any breaches of the relevant codes of ethics.
