Team Chair

Earners of the Team Chair Badge lead accreditation review teams, representing ABET and the profession (applied & natural science, computing, engineering or engineering technology) in all interactions with the review team and institution. Team Chairs are responsible for managing a fair and accurate review of an institution’s programs. They possess knowledge of the accreditation criteria, policies and procedures, as well as effective oral and written communication skills.

Earning Criteria

Completed formal Program Evaluator Training and their accreditation commission's Team Chair training.
Experience as a Program Evaluator on at least three ABET visit teams.
Approved current or former commissioner appointed by their accreditation commission’s executive committee.
Exhibit the following knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the Team Chair Competency Model: leadership, good team manager, organized and responsive, effective communicator, technically current and professional.
