Independent Certified Gemologist Appraisers (ICGA) are independent jewelry appraisal firms that specialize in and are considered to be, the authority on the appraisal of gems, diamonds, and jewelry. This title represents those whose sole business is appraising. To receive this certification, the ICGA has completed an extensive course in personal property appraising. ICGAs must complete the annual Recertification exam, and also submit proof of continuing education in their field every five years.
