Earners of the Teaching Data and the African Diaspora badge gained preparation to teach an introductory undergraduate course entitled "Data and the African Diaspora." They were shown the social implications of using data that powers algorithms to perpetrate bias. Badge earners explored types of bias, implications, and consequences of disparities, recommendations for addressing disparities, and how to access relevant datasets for research and analysis using Posit (R/RStudio).
