Laser Safety Course

Issued by Australasian Academy of Cosmetic Dermal Science

This is a theory-based course, which focuses on the clinical aspects of IPL and Laser treatment and the required safety standards as outlined by the Radiation Safety Act. It is recognised by the two main Laser authorities; QLD Radiation Health and the Radiological Council of WA as an official Radiation/Laser Safety Officer’s Certificate.

Earning Criteria

The exam for this course encompasses; Laser and light physics, mechanics of laser and light systems, lasers in cosmetic medicine and dermal therapies, licensing, state regulations and risk assessment and management. This course provides credit (with additional assessment) into the following Nationally accredited Qualifications; Advanced Diploma of Cosmetic Dermal Science, Graduate Diploma of Cosmetic Nursing and Injectables and the Graduate Diploma of Dermal Science.

QLD Radiation Health

This course is recognised by QLD Radiation Health as a Laser Safety Officers course (a prerequisite to laser licensing in WA, QLD and Tas).

Radiological Council of WA

This course is recognised by the Radiological Council of WA as a Laser Safety Officers course (a prerequisite to laser licensing in WA, QLD and Tas).
