Earning Criteria

- Post-qualifying social work experience* in a clinical setting: *Post-qualifying social work experience gained as a social worker after graduating from an AASW Accredited Social Work program.

a. Have at least 2 years’ full-time equivalent (FTE) post-qualifying social work experience in a school setting within the last 5 years b. Must be able to articulate how their experience meets all of the AASW School Capability Statements, relating to the core Knowledge and skill indicators and provide a case example from one of their nominated positions

- Demonstrate at least 2 years’ full-time equivalent (FTE) post-qualifying supervision within the last 5 years.

- Have met the Continuing Professional Development requirements.

- Demonstrate ability and knowledge of School Social Work practice through Case Study activities.

- Verification of applicant’s Skills and Competencies in Practice. For each role you would like considered for your application, you will need to provide all the following: Referee statement, Position description and Curriculum vitae or resume
Standards
AASW Practice Standards outline the practice expectations of all social workers. They are designed to guide social workers to ensure they fulfil their professional practice responsibilities.
The Code of Ethics of the AASW, expresses the values and responsibilities that are integral to and characterise the social work profession. It is intended to assist all social workers, collectively and individually, to act in ethically accountable ways, in the pursuit of the profession’s aims.
