Advanced Supervision Program (Family Violence)
The Advanced Supervision Program was created in direct response to the recommendations from recent Coronial, Royal Commission, and State Ombudsman reports, which highlighted the need for advanced supervision for frontline social workers and the lack of quality supervision training and support. It is a 6-week evidence-based Program with a blended learning approach (eLearning, facilitator-led masterclasses, online collaborative workshops & coaching circles).

Skills
Earning Criteria

Minimum of 3 years of post-qualifying experience and provided supervision for at least 2 years.

Engaged in own supervision for at least 2 years as a commitment to professional practice and has a clear understanding of the contemporary professional and practice issues legislation and policy relating to family violence.

Engaged in continuing professional development to ensure currency of knowledge in relevant fields of practice, and provision of Clinical Supervision whilst also potentially being the supervisees team leader and holding a dual role

Learner can: apply their knowledge and skills in supervision to an advanced level, explain the different purposes of supervisory relationships, choose approaches to supervision that align with a supervisees learning style, foster the professional development of supervisees through reflective practice create and protect a safe and reflective experience for supervisees, compose a clear supervision provision statement, self-evaluate current skills and plan for their own professional development.

Standards
The AASW Supervision Standards articulate expectations for the professional supervision of social workers in the current and varied contexts in which social work is practised in Australia.
The Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework, covers early identification, screening, risk assessment and management (including through collaborative arrangements), encompassing risk management planning and intervention, safety planning, stabilisation and recovery.
