Earners of this badge demonstrated knowledge of the different types of diabetes medications, their effects on blood glucose levels and different administration methods. They are able to report side effects and develop strategies to overcome barriers to medication taking. They are able to recognise the causes, signs and symptoms of hypoglycaemia, including impaired awareness. They can identify those people at high risk for hypoglycaemia and state the steps for hypoglycaemia management.
