Earning Criteria

• Earner has volunteered their time and experiences working and training in the Merchant Navy to the Careers at Sea Ambassador programme. They helped reach more people in the UK, contributing to opportunities to share about Merchant Navy entry pathways and skills working on board ship and inspire the next generation of seafarers. Whether by virtual and face-to-face events, written materials, photographs or videos for our online presence, earners have volunteered to the Careers at Sea programme.
• Earner has presented to careers advisers, students or those interested in exploring careers in the Merchant Navy on board ships. This includes speaking about entry pathways as well as the unique structure of training both in nautical colleges and on board ship. They have used their own experiences working within the industry to provide specific insight and respond to questions with first-hand experience.
• Earner has contributed their own experiences in the form of written narratives, photographs or videos for our online promotional activity. This includes social media, presentations, articles and webinars. Their experiences enrich the content on these platforms, drawing interest from people who may have never considered this career pathway before.
• Earner has attended a minimum of 5 careers events ranging from an hour to a day long. These can be both online or face-to-face, providing first-hand experiences of working in the Merchant Navy on board ship to inspire the next generation of seafarers.
