Earning Criteria

• Earner has developed an understanding of the key design functions on Autodesk Fusion 360 and ability to design simple objects by creating a sketch on a plane to create 3D forms (extrude, revolve, sweep, modify, render, etc.)
• Earner has developed an understanding of the addictive manufacturing process (building layer by layer) and ability to set up a 3D print using key functions on the Cura software (slice, infill, etc.)
• Earner has developed an understanding of the process of analysing real-world objects or people to collect data points on its shape, size, colour etc. in order to create a 3D model.
• Earner has developed an understanding of the subtractive manufacturing process specifically applied to laser cutting (cutting, engraving material & speeds and limits set ups) and ability to design simple 2D forms or text using Fusion 360 or Inkscape software.
• Earner has developed an understanding of the difference between SLA and SLS printing, SLA being used for extremely detailed and complex objects with minimum print layer thickness with liquid resin and SLS printing without support material for strong and high quality ready components.
• Earner has developed an understanding of the subtractive manufacturing processes applied to CNC machining (form object from a block of material) and differences between CNC machining and CNC routing with cutters and toothpathing using Fusion 360.
