Earner undertook training with Future Foundry to gain the skills to facilitate a hand held lantern making workshop, including tissue and withy lantern construction, workshop management, safeguarding and health and safety.

Earner undertook planning for the workshops alongside their allocated team. They planned the activity and prepared the workshop kit, including materials, equipment and resources for the session.

As part of the team, the earner delivered an engaging lantern making workshop to a school or community group. Earner set up the workshop, welcomed participants and explained and demonstrated the steps needed to make the lantern following the guidelines learned in training. Earner assisted participants to create their own lantern within the time allocated, ensuring everyone was able to take part and all lanterns were safely made and labelled in preparation for the procession.

Earner informed the school or community group of the arrangements for taking part in the lantern procession in a way that would encourage them to attend and build a sense of excitement and anticipation.

Earner ensured the workshop space was cleaned and cleared at the end of the day. Earner returned materials and equipment to storage and reported lantern numbers and any materials or equipment needs to the Project Lead.
