Earner has undertaken an introduction to clay as a material including earthenware, stoneware and crank clay properties, the studio recycling process and wedging.

Earner has participated in an introduction to firing clay and the different ceramic terms including ‘green ware’, ‘bisque’ and ‘glaze ware’. They also had a tour of the kiln room.

Earner has learned and practised hand-building techniques including pinching, coiling, slab building and modelling.

Earner has learned and practised slip decoration techniques including: painting, slip trailing, graffito, inlay, transfer printing, wax and paper resists.

Earner has undertaken an introduction to glazes, glaze techniques and the use of oxides. Earner has learned and practised applying glazes and oxides to bisque-fired work.

Earner has had an introduction to throwing, learning and practising throwing pieces on the potters' wheel.
