Earning Criteria

• Earner has demonstrated a good understanding of painting techniques and methods. Skills in mark-making, colour theory and composition are evident through both preliminary sketches and finished pieces. They have demonstrated technical knowledge of a range of materials, such as watercolour, acrylic and oil paint, and approached each medium with confidence.
• Earner has demonstrated a dedication to small and large projects, sustained over a number of weeks. Projects have ranged from quick observational sketches to day-long explorative drawings, and large full-colour paintings produced over multiple sessions.
• Earner has demonstrated skills in art analysis and indicated knowledge of both art history and contemporary painting. Their understanding has developed through independent research, and been successfully demonstrated and furthered with group discussions on the history and theory of art.
