Earning Criteria

• Earner has been part of the recruitment process from start to finish including actively participating in discussions and conversations about:  •  What it means to be an ‘employer of choice’ and the relevance of this to attracting talent •  Recognizing need and deciding on the best way to fill a vacancy  •  The importance of language and tone in the creating an advert and where to advertise  •  Deciding on the best way for candidates to apply and the importance of being inclusive.
• Earner understands role profiles and the importance of Personal Specifications in shortlisting process.
• Earner has been involved in shortlisting candidates, using our Shortlisting Matrix and scoring system.
• Earner understands the range of interviewing techniques available (formal interviews, tests, trial shifts etc) and how to decide on the best format for the role.
• Earner understands and/or has been involved in discussions about the need to eliminate bias and discrimination, what it means to be Disability Confident, when and how to make reasonable adjustments.
• Earner has been involved in choosing relevant questions from the Real Ideas Questions ‘bank’ and can understand how these link to the role profile.
• Earner has been involved in interviewing candidates and contributing to interview panel discussion with the panel chair to select candidates.
• Earner has demonstrated their ability to know what pitfalls to avoid (e.g. the type of questions panel members should avoid asking).
• Earner understands the various considerations which need to be taken into account when negotiating terms and conditions (Inc. pay in accordance with Company Policy).
• Earner has completed IHASCO Understanding Bias Training.
• Earner has completed IHASCO Equality & Diversity Training.
• Earner has been involved in reaching a final decision (and what happens if you can’t decide or agree).
• Earner understands what is involved in the Real Ideas approaches to Safer Recruitment including the need for references, the Disclosure and Barring Service and the importance of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
• Earner has been involved in giving constructive feedback to successful and unsuccessful candidates (verbal and non-verbal).
