According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Career Competencies are defined as the attainment and demonstration of requisite competencies that broadly prepare college graduates for successful transition into the workplace. The Career Readiness Badge addresses three main skill categories associated with preparing for a career. They are: Digital Presentation & Professional Identity; Networking & Relationship Building; and Lifelong Learning & Reflection.

Earning Criteria

Earners submit their evidence to an expert in Career Readiness who then evaluates the evidence for competency. For the Silver level of this badge, earners have met the following criteria:

Portfolio includes everything listed for earning the Ruby level of the badge plus all of the following: 1) description of three NACE competencies that relate to your chosen career path 2) three powerful personal stories that demonstrate each competency, using Situation/Task/Action/Result format 3) Three evidences of learning/artifacts related to your career path competencies 4) LinkedIn profile with 50 connections and 4 groups

Attend four professional development initiatives selected by the earner and the Executive Director of Career and Life Planning or their career coach (career story interview, career shadow, career development webinar, career & networking event, professional organization event) and write a 1-page reflection on their learning.

1) Complete and share learning from two internship, volunteer or work-related experiences; 2) Compose a Professional Development Plan that articulates their plans for holistic life long learning.
