From this unit you will have a deeper appreciation of the Catholic understanding of Human Dignity. You will see its central place in all ethical considerations. You will be familiar with the biblical grounds of human dignity, its place in the theology of creation and how it is exemplified in the life and teaching of Jesus. You will be able to apply the concept of human dignity to current issues around inclusivity, relationships, online behaviour racism, gender and health care.

Earning Criteria

  • 3 hours face to face + 3 hours reading + 2 hours writing task
  • The sessions are led by a specialist in the field, and cover the foundational understandings of the Catholic teaching on Human Dignity, its biblical and ethical dimensions. Practical applications are central to the learning. Participants write a 500 word online post in response to the content and discussions. The response includes a summary of the content, the impact of the material personally, and the possible ways of implementing the content into the workplace.
