This badge recognizes students who have completed EOP Academic Coach training and have received Level 1 CRLA IPTPC certification. These peer educators demonstrate an understanding of academic coaching, including assisting students with time management, study skills, note-taking, goal setting, critical reading, mnemonics, self-advocacy, and more. These peer educators also exhibit leadership qualities, including rapport building, motivation, active listening, record-keeping, and professionalism.

Earning Criteria

EOP academic coaches must complete all training requirements set and approved by CRLA’s IPTPC requirements. This includes 6 hours of in-person training, 4 hours of virtual modules, 25 hours of coaching experiences, and regular assessments. The CRLA has approved all materials, standards, and expectations.
EOP academic coaches are evaluated on their work throughout the training period, including hands-on scenarios, and undergo regular session evaluations. Standards for these sessions and evaluations have been set and approved by CRLA’s IPTPC requirements.
