The methods of assessment include quizzes and performance rubrics (checklists) with a minimum passing score of 70 percent for online testing and 100 percent for hands-on simulations evaluations.

The methods of instruction include audiovisual materials, discussion, computer-based training, lecture, and classroom exercise. The general course topics include HAZMAT - carbon monoxide module; HAZMAT - command module; HAZMAT - compressed inert gas; HAZMAT - natural gas; and HAZMAT - weapons of mass destruction.
