Black Belts (BBs) understand Six Sigma in the context of business and recognise the Process Improvement models (DMAICT) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS). Competent in Six Sigma language, they understand roles and responsibilities of Champions and Belts. BBs can lead business improvement projects using DMAICT process and supporting tools to improve business performance and customer satisfaction. They can apply metrics, accountability, alignment to profit and loss process and strategic objectives.

Earning Criteria

Each candidate is expected to conduct a Lean Six Sigma improvement project. Successful completion of this project is a pre-requisite for Certification of Competence.

Participants will be expected to conduct a second Six Sigma improvement project as part of their development. The project should recoup the training investment. Project selection can be discussed with your Champions before the programme commences.
Standards
Course content is aligned to the International Standard (ISO) definitions of competencies required by individuals for the attainment of Six Sigma, Lean, and “Lean & Six Sigma” Black Belt.
