Yellow Belts have a basic understanding of the Lean Six Sigma (R)DMAIC(T) improvement process competence in the language of Lean Six Sigma. They understand the roles and responsibilities of improvement Champions. They are able to recognise the phases and steps in an improvement project, know when and how to use certain tools in the Lean Six Sigma tool-set, and contribute skills and knowledge to ensure success in an improvement project.
