Topics covered include: who can be a Notary in PA, what documents you can notarize, when can you notarize a document, where can you notarize a document, why do you notarize a document and how do you notarize a document?

Concepts covered include: How to identify clients and keep accurate records and to understand the Commonwealth’s process for applying for a Notary License. Students will learn about the mandatory bond requirement and what insurance is available for Notaries as well as what equipment is needed to complete the duties of a Notary.

The student will learn the duties of a notary which include acknowledgement, oaths, verifications on oath or affirmation, witnessing or attesting a signature, witnessing or attesting a signature, certifying or attesting a copy of depositing, and noting a protest of a negotiable instrument.
