Implicit Bias in Health Care (2 contact hours)

Participants will gain an understanding of how cultural norms, language, and experiences shape our individual knowledge and decision-making. They will learn about the neuroscience of implicit bias and identify several forms of bias. In addition, they will interpret the relationship between implicit bias and disparate access to and delivery of health care services. Finally, participants will be able to explain a process to mitigate implicit bias in delivery of health care services.
