Earning Criteria

Earn NIMS CNC Turning: Operations certification issued by the National Institute of Metalworking Skills to signify passing the NIMS CNC Turning: Operations credentialing test
Demonstrate safe and proper cutting tool assembly: fitting (tightening/setting) inspection of cutters/holders. Inspection and verification of: feature with/out size, runout, surface finish, and total runout. Execute machining applications of facing and OD turning. Effectively operate deburring, fixture/geometry offset adjustments, machine controls/startup/shutdown/warmup, and part loading(vise/fixture) tool height offset adjustments.
