Pass an instructor graded assessment (at 80% or higher on a 100 point scale) created from a pool of randomized questions designed to accurately assess the mastery of the competencies listed below. Information regarding the assessment can be obtained from MSU Department of Engineering and Engineering Technology.
Perform the appropriate steps to fabricate parts, from metal Additive Manufacturing machine set up to post processing and refinishing successfully. Apply correct post processing techniques with proper selection and type of process while maintaining the equipment.
Use Additive Manufacturing terminology properly and understand the role and importance of standards in the metal additive manufacturing industry. Determine the critical safety factors around Additive Manufacturing metal part production including personal protection equipment (PPE), facility safety best practices, material handling and disposal, and mitigating exposure and explosion risks.
