This course presents core strategies and builds knowledge on preparing and responding to a communicable disease outbreak. Topics include communicable disease characteristics, epidemiology in practice, clinical/public health planning, response and messaging in outbreaks, immunity and vaccinations and the indirect health consequences of outbreaks. Students gain knowledge transferable to various health/community settings to assist health preparedness and response for communicable disease outbreaks.
