Earning Criteria

The Master Gardener Volunteer Training Class (MGVTC) satisfies the instruction requirement. Through the MGVTC, participants receive at least 40 hours of intensive, practical horticultural training. Topics covered include soils and plant nutrition, entomology, plant physiology, plant pathology, vegetable gardening, tree and small fruit culture, lawn management, the culture of woody ornamentals, and problem-solving.
