Associate Management Accountant (AMA)
AMA is the associate-level professional program of the CMA(ANZ). To be recognised as an AMA participants must demonstrate skills of analysis, evaluation and synthesis in the areas of Financial Modelling, Financial Management, Financial Statement Analysis and Management Accounting; and, in the process, obtained a good awareness of the current developments in the profession. In addition, AMAs also require 3-years of business related experience.

Earning Criteria

Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance, or an MBA, from a recognised university or a Professional Qualification in Accounting

Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in business.

Must maintain AMA membership in good standing and comply with the CPD requirements with no outstanding complaints or disciplinary proceedings.
Standards
The AMA is obtained after completing the GMA education program and obtaining 3-years business experience. The GMA has been assessed as equivalent to Level 7 (Degree) under the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).
