Earners receiving the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, help meet the growing need of qualified early childcare and education staff. The CDA Credential, nationally administered through the Council for Professional Recognition, is the most widely recognized credential in the early childhood education and is a key steppingstone on the path to career advancement in ECE. Earners can work in Head Start, Preschool, infant/toddler, family childcare and home visitor programs.

Earners have studied and adhered to the policies and procedures for assessment and credentialing, set by the council

Earners have met the Competency Standards and other materials used for CDA credentialing

Earners have passed the assessment administered by the CDA.

Earners of this credential have completed the CDA program at CCBC, finished the needed clock hours of education, prepared for the Professional Resource File, and have received guidance in taking the CDA exam and Verification Site Visit
