They are also able to define, spell, pronounce, and employ a fundamental vocabulary of medical terms and abbreviations; correlate medical terms with body systems and anatomic structures; use suffixes to determine the clinical category of medical terms; convert medical terms to and from abbreviations; and understand quantitative literacy as used in healthcare.

Complete readings and assignments in 15 modules. Topics studied are body structure, directional terms, positioning, imaging, oncology, laboratory tests, and body systems, including integumentary, respiratory, urinary, male reproductive, female reproductive, obstetrics and neonatology, cardiovascular, immune, lymphatic, digestive, special senses (eye and ear), musculoskeletal, nervous, and endocrine.

Demonstrate the ability to use a medical dictionary and the ability to determine if online information sources are reliable in discussion posts and culminating presentation of a case study and web report.
