Passes the Competency #7 - Engage in the Scholarship of Teaching Exam with an 80% or better.

Searches for and submits two professional nursing journal author guidelines, and provides an example of something that could be written to fit one of the categories of each journal. At least one of the journals must be from the nursing education profession.

Demonstrates the use of evidence-based resources to improve and support teaching by providing an informal lesson plan example with references. If a specific example cannot be provided, the learner provides a paragraph describing an example of how one could start using EVTP.

Demonstrates participation in research activities related to nursing education by describing their research activity in a paragraph and also rating herself/himself using the Rubric for Evaluation of Scholarship of Teaching from Ward (2008). If specific examples cannot be provided, the learner provides a written problem statement about nursing education and a research question for the identified problem.

Lists examples of ways the learner has shared teaching expertise with colleagues and others, and adds them to their CV if so desired. If specific examples cannot be provided, the learner provides a paragraph describing an example of how she/he could begin sharing their expertise.
