Earning Criteria

• Passes the Competency 1 - Facilitate Learning Exam with 80% or better.
• Completes a teaching style inventory (TPI) that models reflective thinking practices, including critical thinking
• Displays professional letter(s) of recommendation that demonstrate the following:  1) Excellent interpersonal communication skills, 2) Enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and nursing that inspires and motivates students, and 3) Excellence as a role model in clinical practice settings.
• Prepares the following components of their professional Curriculum Vitae (CV) that demonstrate the following:  1) Excellent interpersonal communication skills, 2) Excellence in physical and psychosocial assessment, and 3) Excellence in patient care  Specialty certifications (if any)
• Identifies the TIGER competencies happening current (or most recent) place of employment, and chooses one more competency that may be added and explains how it would be planned.
• Reflects on personal Teaching Perspective Inventory (TPI) by describing highest scores and determining if they accurately describe present teaching philosophy
• Reports on a collegial working relationship with clinical agency personnel that could (or do) promote positive environments for learners
• Reports on a journal article that highlights an evidence-based teaching practice that matches your personal teaching philosophy and explains how it matches
