Earning Criteria

Learner was exposed to content regarding medical billing and insurance, medical terminology, access to resources, and other healthcare navigation and advocacy concepts, then assessed in terms of their knowledge of these concepts. Learners will be equipped to take the examination to become a Board Certified Patient Advocate.

Learner was assessed in self-paced lectures followed by exams, until they reach a required level of fluency in terms of their knowledge of the key concepts. Areas of competency will include: (a) Medical and insurance terminology, (b) Medical billing and coding, (c) Consumer protection laws, (d) Pricing and hospital billing corrections.
