Earning Criteria

Identification of two or more peer-reviewed journal articles that use quantitative research, including the following for each article: a summary of the study that: identifies the research question(s), describes and explains the research method(s), and reports on the findings.

Also included for each article is an evaluation/explanation of how the research did or did not achieve validity, reliability, and generalizability; and a description of how the findings of the article can be used to inform educational practice (while noting the limitations and cautions of applying the findings to a new or different context).

Also included for each article is a proposal of two or more ways to improve the quality of the study, based upon cited best practices in quantitative research; and a proposal for different quantitative research methods that could be used to pursue answers to the same or similar research question(s), including an explanation of the strengths and limitations between the newly proposed research methods and the method(s) used in the study.
