Earning Criteria

• Passes the Competency #6 - Facilitate Learner Development and Socialization Exam with an 80% or better.
• Document at least one way you demonstrate EACH of the following:  (1) Engages in activities that promote socialization into the role, (2) Maintains membership in professional organizations, (3) Participates actively in professional organizations through committee work and/or leadership roles, (4) Participates in professional development opportunities (professional conference attendance, continued education credits, certifications), (5) Mentors and supports colleagues in the nurse educator role.
• Using the model presented by Savory (2012), write three separate memos for a peer.  1) Course Goals, 2) Analyze Teaching Methods, 3) Document Student Learning or Performance.
• Create a five-year plan to demonstrate commitment to life-long learning
• For any of the items from Activity 1 that were not added to your portfolio, provide one document demonstrating how you will meet the competencies in your future.
• If a terminal degree is not held by the learner, a reflective statement is created about their future potential to obtain one, and which type is preferred.
