This course is designed to allow students to earn a one-year renewable user-certification in the use of the Taser X2 device. This course emphasizes both proficiency and decision-making in the use of the Taser X2 device as well as the current legalities of the use of this device. This course meets all requirements set forth by Axon. This course is part of the curriculum for CRJ5484 Criminal Justice Internship I.

Earning Criteria

  • Complete 8- hour Axon Taser classroom course
  • Completion of Basic Taser user course written exam with a minimum score of 90%
  • Completion of Taser 7 written exam with a minimum score of 90%
  • Successful discharge of two Taser 7 cartridges into a target
  • Completion of hands-on drills with Certified Taser instructor
  • Optional Taser Exposure. If the student participates there will be video documentation
