This Silver module on Leadership is the second of three levels, that provide learning up to Masters level. Learners explore how leadership is shaped by context and how this understanding is important to ensure leadership is effective. Learners identify their leadership development needs and develop an appreciation of the role of politics in leadership. They think about their own leadership identity before considering their current role and steps up to the next role.

- Apply the four paradigms on leadership (theoretical perspectives introduced in bronze) to your current and future organisational challenges.
- Building on the self-assessment in bronze, critically appraise your current stage of leadership development and what your next stage of development looks like.
- Contrast the different leadership practices required for technical and adaptive problems and appraise their relevance for contemporary organisational challenges.
- Evaluate how to enact leadership practices in complex contexts.
- Examine the leadership capability required in differing organisational contexts, cultural and international contexts.
- Map your leadership network, and analyse the importance of power relationships, emotions, and political dynamics.
Earning Criteria

Learners complete activities for each of the skills described. To gain the Silver badge learners submit a report on their current stage in the 6 step leadership pipeline and how they have met the development demands for each of the steps they have identified as having already achieved. They then develop a step-by step plan for how they will achieve each the remaining steps they want to achieve.
