The treatment of eating disorders has evolved, as the knowledge in the field has become more scientific. Knowing the most up-to-date treatment and best practices for eating disorders is part of ethical treatment. We will explore the appropriate treatment team to use with eating disorder clients, the use of inpatient level of care, and current effective eating disorder treatments. We review; CBT, imagery and metaphor, as well as DBT in order to highlight the tools available to clinicians.
