CSTEP Project L.A.W.

The Leadership, Achievement, and Work (LAW) project aims to prepare qualified underrepresented and economically disadvantaged individuals who aspire to become licensed public interest attorneys in New York State for successful matriculation into the law school of their choice. The project aims to instill in these students, through an emphasis in labor law, the four principles of social justice: equity, access, civic participation, and human rights.

Earning Criteria

Project L.A.W. students are able to read, analyze, and think critically about legal and social justice writings.

Project L.A.W. students have engaged with reading and analyzing court decisions and documentation relating to the core labor law principles of the National Labor Relations Act which is the federal law governing labor relations between employers and employees. Participants have also been exposed to the impact of the labor movement on civil rights in the United States.

Project L.A.W. students have received academic enrichment to enhance their writing skills within the discipline of law.

Project L.A.W. students have completed 10 weeks of LSAT preparation.
