The earner of this badge has successfully completed the professional certification testing for Fire Investigator NFPA 1033, 2014 Edition through cognitive and psychomotor skills assessment following the guidelines set forth in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Bucks County Community College through our Professional Certification Accreditation.

Earning Criteria

Possess a High School Diploma or GED.

Possess a current Criminal Background report.

Have Hazardous Materials Awareness Level, NFPA 472 or NFPA 1072 Certification (IFSAC and/or ProBoard).

Possess building construction and basic electrical safety knowledge.

Possess a professional work experience beyond entry level showing a minimum of five (5) years in a Fire Suppression Organization or Law Enforcement Agency.

Recommendation from the Chief of the Fire or Law Enforcement Agency they are currently or most recently affiliated with.

Complete Fire Investigator level training course in accordance with NFPA 1033.

Successfully complete the Professional Certification assessment examination.
