The earner of this badge has completed training in basic fire service. The earner has basic knowledge, skills, and abilities to begin their fire service career. The earner understands how to function safely and effectively as a support member of a fire suppression organization. The earner is aware of firefighter safety, personal protective equipment, tools and emergency lighting, and backing apparatus. This is the first of five levels (courses) in the curriculum.
