Earning Criteria

Earners must complete a minimum of three required and four elective courses that include a minimum of 68 contact hours of training through OTI Education Center and/or EMU courses to earn the Safety and Health Associate (SHA) – General Industry Concentration certificate.
Standards
As a consortium partner in the Great Lakes OSHA Education Center, Eastern Michigan University is part of a national network of non-profit organizations authorized by OSHA to deliver occupational safety and health training to all levels of workers.
