Elm is envisioning a training program in 2023 for its consultants' department employees across 4 distinct business units (PMO, ITC, Strategy Execution & BD, BPM)• Main objective is to enhance their consulting skills focusing on core competencies any consultant needs to excel in the field through a general training track (cross cutting all BUs) training two cohorts: one entry-mid level cohort and one senior level cohort with 50 participants upskilled in total over 12 sessions.

Entry to Mid-level cohort: Problem solving 101: Share general approach to problem-solving, & deep-dive on the first 2 steps (framing & decomposing) • Learn to ‘frame the issues’ using a best-in class framework• Learn to breakdown problems using hypothesis-driven approach• Practice so trainees can build competence and apply it independently in the future.

Entry to Mid-level cohort: High impact presentation: Tailor communication while keeping audience context in mind• Practice best-in-class framework for effective story lining to communicate key insights• Summarize principles of breakthrough communication when developing a presentation.

Entry to Mid-level cohort: Collaborative team skills (MBTI): Understand how to leverage MBTI to foster more collaboration and interactivity amongst team members• Observe and practice application of the MBTI tool• Recognize how to apply the situational leadership framework going forward.

Entry to Mid-level cohort: Agile bootcamp: Define Agile and recall the four Agile values• Recognize the difference between Agile values and Agile practices• Expand understanding of the roles, events, and artefacts of Scrum• Identify opportunities to increase individual and team productivity across the four agile values.

Entry to Mid-level cohort: Prioritization & work planning: Plan the work in a way that forces clear-thinking about strategic priorities &objectives• Summarize tips & tricks to ensure effective meeting, stakeholder, and delivery/ project management• Commit to applying what you learned in your future work.

Entry to Mid-level cohort: Excel, research & benchmarking: Present a comprehensive approach to structure Excel models• Provide tips & tricks on how to build powerful Excel models that are modular, easy to maintain, robust, and error-free• Learn key steps to conduct effective benchmarking• Understand process to run robust primary and secondary research analysis.

Senior Level: High impact communication: Recognize the importance of effective meeting management as a pre-requisite for high impact communication• Practice tips & tricks to appropriately use eye contact, gestures, and vocal energy to effectively communicate insights to a senior audience• Clear a slide and conduct ‘touch, turn, & talk ’principles to effectively deliver a presentation.

Senior Level: Agile leadership behaviors: Recognize the importance of effective prioritization and sequencing of projects• Summarize the four agile values• Understand the difference between agile values and agile practices• Describe best practice leadership behavior sat Elm across the four agile values.

Senior Level: High impact board-level presentation: Recognize best practices of effective storytelling• Understand best practices of presentation design, incl. tailoring to the audience, focusing on zero-defect to drive teams more effectively• Deliver a simple, clear, and memorable presentation to a senior board-level audience• Prepare an elevator pitch.
